Came to a conclusion that my alternator is bad due to blinking lights with battery light on and it drained my new battery. My question is which alternator should I get? I heard on and off review about alternators from autozone.. need one asap as this pos is my dd. TIA

Car is a 2006 type S

I went down that rabbit hole a few years ago. Tried a few rebuilds and aftermarket alternators. None of them worked. Then I bought an OEM version off eBay, and that finally solved my troubles. I recommend the same for you.

Yeah the retail price is ridiculous. But there are some good deals on eBay in the $300 range

bacchus, what did you buy on eBay exactly? I see OEM alternator at 1,498, or a bunch of used OEM alternators (some with low mileage) around 100, not much else.

Did some research and seems folks have issues with Bosch remanufactured (What kind of alternator to get? - Honda-Tech - Honda Forum Discussion) and seem to recommend denso (which I'm not surprised by, my original denso alternator now 20+ years old is still working).

anyone know if the denso remanufactured ones are still good?

Yes, sorry I wasn't clear. The Denso reman alternator was the good one. Equivalent to OEM without the huge price tag. It's the Denso 95 Amp 13965 for my 03 Type S. Been working great for 6 years now.

For research purposes but have you heard any reviews about Napa Auto Parts alternators since they’re “close to oem”?

Hey guys, first post, though ive been lurking the forum for a few months now. Can someone confirm if the "battery light stuck on" in fact will remain on unless i go with an oem denso unit for replacement? I have been searching but keep coming across this on all of the pages i find related. However, i see some of you have gone with DB electrical, autozone, etc.... Did the light issue continue with you? My primary concern is my wife will be driving my 03 Type-S and i would worry that without being able to verify any issues, it could crap out without us knowing, leaving her stranded somewhere.
