As purchased approx. 1 yr ago:

My first modification was swapping LEDs in the guage cluster:

Also swapped LEDs in the A/C controls:

As well as the window switches in both doors:

And lets not forget the PITA ignition LED:

I started ADDING some WEIGHT :dontknow:

I even added some ABS (also covered with a dampening material) to cover the large openings in the door metal to further eliminate road/wind noise:

I have lowered the car as well with a set of Comptech springs, however I dont have a pic of the "after" shots, but Im sure there are already many around the CRSX site.

I did purchase a Greddy turbo kit w/ FMIC about 2 months after purchasing the car (currently waiting on a friend to get a couple of the exhaust pieces powder coated black).

Hoping to soon pick up a EVOTT or TI-C exhaust to further prepare for the turbo install - which will probably happen later this fall.

I recently purchased my first home, which has taken quite a bit of my cash flow away from the RSX. But I guess that makes it a little more fun as I cant get everything done at once, and its much more of an ongoing project.

As you may notice, I did swap the front speakers, with a set of JBL Power Series 6.5" components. I took the factory plastic trim ring, and used a router to make a MDF copy of the factory piece. This allowed me to mount the 6.5" to a more ridgid MDF piece, as well as give room for the clearance of the speaker w/o having to chop up the ABS. (Incase I ever want to put the audio back to stock for resell).

I am planning to eventually make some custom kickpanels to house another set of JBL Power series components (5.25's). Along with installing a third set of JBL Power Series 6.5" components in the rear (or currently debating putting some 8's back there for added midbass). I am currently planning to put 2 JBL GTO Series 10's in the hatch area - probably fiberglass 1 into each side area around the wheel wells.

Let me know what you guys think - as I know you probably will do w/o my asking...

I actually followed the DIY that I found on here from Ocelaris here:

http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread.php?t=102079

I am an engineer by trade, so it wasnt anything super complicated to me, however it was certainly pretty involved. For me the hardest part was physically removing the factory LEDs because Acura (or whoever is subcontracted to manufacturer/assemble the circuit board) physically glued the LEDs to the board, and then soldered them into place. This certainly makes it much easier to solder the LEDs as they are very small and would easily move, however as said, this made it fairly difficult to remove them.

The A/C and the small cluster to the left of the steering wheel where actually harder to do, as they are incandescent bulbs which require a resistor to be soldered inline as well. This was tough in some of these places because there just wasnt much room to put both the LED and a resistor w/o interfering with the mechanical parts of some of the switches. But its obviously possible as I have pics to prove :)

NOTE: I had PMed Ocelaris about a couple of details of the job in general, he was very helpful. But as he told me it had been a while since he actually did the work and the write up, so it wasnt all necessarily fresh information. If anyone is interested in completing the job I would be willing to assist with any details necessary.

Yeah, I wasnt a big fan of the factory red ones as the exterior of my car is obviously blue. So I wanted to start some sort of theme and keep everything a matching color. It was much cheaper to change the LEDs than it would have been to have the car repainted :) I like the blue exterior a lot anyway.

The now blue interior also carried into my decision to go with the Pioneer HU as it has custom configurable illumination colors to perfectly match your interior lighting.

Im also working toward carrying the same styling through the audio installation as well - Im using blue/silver wiring (some of which will be displayed when the install is finally complete.

I have continued to get PMs from some of you guys asking "where did you get those gauges".

It would be helpful to both of us, if you would read some of what I have listed. These are the factory gauges. I followed the DIY guide that I linked above. I personally, removed the gauge cluster from my car, then completely took apart the gauge cluster. Then I unsoldered the factory LEDs from the circuit board, and resoldered new (blue) LEDs into place. There are MANY colors of LEDs available which basically means that you could have yours done in most any basic color you would want.

Feel free to continue to ask questions, as I love to share my knowledge

Not sure that it matters to anyone else, but I changed the links again. I couldnt view the pictures myself (photobucket) from work, but am able to view them from imageshack.

Im hoping to get some more of current work on the rear speakers done this weekend. I will be applying dynamat in the same way it was done on the front doors. Along with more ABS for the openings in the metal of the rear panel.

My main hobby is car audio. The Dynamat has drastically reduced the road noise inside the car - which then basically makes the audio system sound better and louder as it doesnt have to play over the road noise.

The total weight of dynamat that I will have eventually added to the car will equal about 1/2 of a person... :dontknow:

Then again - with the power of the RSX, and with the eventual added Greddy turbo, I dont think the weight will make much of a difference :)

just remember that weight will effect all ascpects of your cars performance, power will only effect one ;)

I forgot to address the subs.. Im currently work on doing the audio install in stages. Since Im going for a pretty custom install (fiberglass work involved), and I do have a full time 8-5 job, its tough to get good progress other than weekends - which ofcoarse my wife contines to hound me for spending more time on the car than with her :dontknow:

I will be installing dual 12" JBL GTO subs (one on each side of the hatch area) fiberglassed / molded in. I will obviously post pics once I get to that point. Im working my way from the front to the back..... (then will jump back to the front again for the kickpanels).

Inc immature teenager response.

Just hit it and then go work on the car then everyone wins. ;) HaHa

looks sweet, once your turbo it will be even better. you have a pretty unique setup there, seems like you want performance along with comforts
