Yes it has right hand screws. Counter-clockwise to loosen.

Attach the special tool to a 1/2" breaker bar. Lodge this against the lower control arm. Attach an impact grade socket to a 1/2" breaker bar. Get a pipe that is 3' or 4' in length and slip it over the breaker bar. Pull up on the pipe as hard as you can.

This trick will work if the direction of the crank rotation is clockwise. I used it on a couple Toyotas like a charm. Just use your impact socket with a big breaker bar and a cheater bar braced against the ground. Then just hit the start for a second after you disconnect the spark plug wires.

This does work on the RSX, sometimes. I have seen this method destroy starters though.

can anyone confirm this??
It is not true.

Crankshaft bolt turns counter-clockwise to remove.

There are very few left-handed threads on this car.

Definitely counter-clockwise. I remember pushing upward on that pole.

I'd go with the 4 footer. :D That bolt broke a socket.

Exactly. You push up.

I broke a 3" extension, 4' pipe, and a 1/2" breaker bar all at the same time. It hurt like hell.

Oh, and the stock pulley broke when this happened as well.

i have heard of people using a impact gun since the crank can move freely.. i wouldnt do it unless you ask acura or something on how to remove it

My 450 ft-lb. impact gun didn't do shit.

Try heating the bolt with a blowtorch before you take it off. And again, use 2 breaker bars and a long pipe.

Yeah my dad's 500ft.lb. impact didn't do crap either. I ended up in front of the car, with one foot at the end of the crank pulley tool to keep it from moving while I pulled up on a 18" long 1/2" breaker bar with a 1' long cheater bar on the end of it. It was probably the hardest thing I've ever had to break loose in my life.
