How to remove the Clear Plastic bra??

My car first hit the raod in MD. Over the years it made it's way to Vegas where I got it. When I got it, it had this barely visible, thick, plastic "invisble bra" on it... At the time it was nice and not very noticeable. Here it is 4 years later and I want to remove it because it's nasty looking.

How do I get this plastic film off my hood? It's got deep scratches in it, that actually started as scratches and over time have become cracks in the plastic. Now the plastic is so old and weathered that it's just fugly. I don't even think it's functional any more.

Help?
I can't peel it off because of the deep cracks. Each piece is less than a full centimeter in length or width.

Thanks!

I just took mine off a few weeks ago because i needed a stone chip fixed on the hood underneath it. Its not a fun job at all, mine was in better shape than yours looks but took me 2-3 hours with a heat gun. It would start to peal nice but than would break off, mine came off in about 20-30 pieces and my fingertips were sooo soar at the end of it. Than for the glue i had a spray at work (i work at a car dealership) for taking the glue off after the shipping stickers come off. I just sprayed it on and had to let it soak in for a few min than used a microfiber towel to wipe the outer layer of the glue off (it took 6-7 layers to come off) and the whole thing left glue underneath not just in some spots.
All i can say it good luck man, i don't think there is a nice way of doing it, its just a pain in the @$$

Thanks guys. I'll try that this weekend.
First, I'll see how much of it I can peel off without it snapping apart at every little line and crack.
After more careful inspection, none (or at least most) of the cuts in the plastic look like they're actually cracked all the way to the paint. They are deep slices, but only weathered, not actually cracked. They originally started out as little scratches, then became deeper cuts in it over time. This is because the car started out in a 4 season a year climate, went to the Desert for some years, then down to the deep South for a couple years, and now is back in the 4 season a year climate, which included severe snow for Jan/Feb.

thanks again yall!
