I am no expert on JDM motors but I do see a VTEC solenoid on it.

Enter the vin on a honda parts site... it will tell you exactly what car it is from. You can find it right above the oil pan.


Edit: It is most likely the A2 by just looking at it.

 

^ i dont have the vin number expect the code from the engine itself. When i asked the garage owner from which car it came from, he said "cr... acc... cr... acc..." lol

If you look right under th throttle body right next to the starter there should be an engraving. It will say K24XX. That will give you an indication of what motor it is.

but i will remove the head tomorrow to see more details...

 

Why do you need to pull the head? Whats underneath the valve cover will tell you everything.

Try to find a stamp that says RAA or RBB. Your motor may have the same specs as the usdm k24a2.

edit - your motor may even be from a honda oddessy obsolute which is like a beefed up minivan

So i opened the vc and here's the pic of the cams and it says RAA

 

I believe that is the accord motor, TSX is RBB.


The accord motor has a CR of 9.7.


What are your plans with the motor?


Edit: ignore that if this is a JDM motor then its the same specs almost as the TSX, Good pick up :thumbsup:

If you wanted to be 100% sure, taking the head off and checking the pistons will tell you right away.

so i purchased 2nd hand Brian Crower cams stage 2 (BC0042) from a member here and for sure i need to change all the head internals as well...

Get the vin in the block and take it to a dealer and they will tell you :thumbsup:

 

that's what i did and they told me that that number is not recorded in their system :\

anyway, i am already convinced that this motor is the counterpart of the tsx engine so im good.
