k24a4 Turbo build?

The motor is very torqy, with those smaller turbos you will have your wtq very close to your whp. I seen a few k24a4's make 350whp & 340wtq @ 12psi.. Not bad if you ask me.

I would recommend a larger turbo like a 35r, in doing so you make the car a bit more streetable. Some guy on k20a.org has a t61 making 500+whp and 445wtq.. Stock k24a4.

A larger turbo now makes a car more streetable? What's the logic behind that?
I said a BIT more streetable, nothing really makes a turbo FWD car streetable to be honest but a larger turbo moves the power band a bit higher in the RPM range. If you have ever in your life driven a K24A1/A4 swap you would know that there is alot of torque produced in that engine but it just falls on its face at about 6000rpm, you can safely rev them to about 7-7.5k. Definately not like your vtec engines.

My opinion is based on past experience. Small turbo on that engine and your going to have the same type of powerband, crazy torque/mid range lacking top end.

It not for arguements sake, no1 has to agree with my opinion either. Regardless anything moves pretty good turbocharged and the difference would probably not even be noticable in the midst of tire spin. I would just think with this particular engine a slightly larger turbo would be better off especially if he eventually wants to build it.

I'd consider a turbo that spools faster to be more streetable, you can get out of the way of shit in traffic... Hence why factory turbo cars are so "streetable", but when you toss a larger turbo on you start to lose said streetability.
Agreed, but the k24a4 is an engine that has great torque at low rpm for drivability already, remember this engine isnt turbo from factory so it was engineered to perform without one. You really cant compare that to cars that are turbocharged from factory. Also how much larger are we talking? I think a 35r would be great on the k24a4 engine. Great spool time, will pull like a train to redline and shouldnt have a problem down low in the rpm range...

Then again its not my build, I wish OP best of luck on his build if he goes threw with it. There are alot of ways to make power out these engines and alot of people are going to have different opinions on how to do so. So iam not trying to convince anyone just throwing my 2 cents out there..
