Rear View Mirror Vibration

I've read a lot of threads about reducing vibrations in these cars which are greatly amplified by after market motor mounts, but i've never seen anyone mention their rear view mirror vibrating.

I don't know if the Enjo mounts cause worse vibrations than others but around 2300 rpm my mirror vibrates so loudly it's by far the most annoying vibration in the car, far worse than the dash and hatch rattles.

I was thinking of unbolting the mirror and remounting it with some rubber washers or something like that, anyone ever have this problem and try anything? It's so bad that if i'm in 6th gear cruising at 40 i have to hold my mirror so it doesn't drive me crazy, not to mention i can't see shit behind me from it because it vibrates so badly.

Man... that hella sucks man. The rattling is coming either from internally or from the mirror touching the plastic housing, right? Sounds like you may have no choice but to try and take it apart.

I don't have mounts on my RSX-S but my mirror used to rattle on my Civic. I would adjust it to aim out the back window and over time I also noticed that it would even start to move down and aim more towards the rear seats. I used "Shoe Goo" on the ball joints because it dries to a clear, rubber-like texture... then I moved the mirror around so that the goo got into the joints a little and it completely fixed my problem... no more vibrations. I don't know if this will help you at all because I don't know if you are having the same kind of vibrations... but something to keep in mind, regardless. BTW... the Shoe Goo can be removed pretty easily after it's completely dry.

ya my innovatives make the mirror shake like crazy but i don't get any noise. i've sound deadened the roof behind the headliner and mounted the mirror to the sound deadening so no noise from it. just can't see anything behind me at certain rpm's due to how much the mirror vibrates

Sort of tangential to the original subject, but my mirror vibrations are the least of my concerns with the Innovatives.

Unless the weather is just right, the car rattles like a bucket of bolts. Cold again today, and I hate driving the car in this weather because of the noise and vibrations.
