Hello I want my goal to be is 500whp for my 2002 RSX Type S. I also want to be able to daily it. When I say daily I mean be able to drive it at normal road speeds but know I got 500whp if I ever need it. I also want it to last a while (I know modified motors/turbos will not last as long as a stock motor)

I basically want to be a dyno whore.

Anyways I do not have the money to get every single thing for that 500whp on the spot so I would like to build my way to that goal. I want to basically build my motor then once I have that set, I would buy a full race turbo kit to complete my path to 500whp.

Could you guys tell me which parts for the motor I should buy and in whatever order you think would be most beneficial. I will get Kpro along the way sometime to get dyno tuned as I gain more parts.

I know that a lot of you guys say we cant tell you which part is best for your situation so I hope I explained my situation/goal/expectations.

Thanks!

Dyno whore? Sounds like you need a Supra.

Better off reading some of the stickies and other threads/builds in the Turbo section and maybe Member Show-off. Be ready to either spend a long time gathering parts (and possibly getting bored/tired midway) or just save up a damn good chunk and then figure out what you want to do when you have $5-10k sitting around, you may not care anymore about a 500hp FWD vehicle that's just going to spin its ass off. 300whp is plenty for these cars, definitely streetable and kept me entertained

Well stated sir, and so true. Just and FYI for you STR2010 on my build and I am rounding off to make it easy. My Motor, Turbo Kit (FR) & Transmission (PPG's) was 15k. That is just the parts, I do all my own work. That's not including clutch setup and fuel setup cause the fittings add up fast and all the other supporting mods. If your not into working on your car I wouldn't shoot for 500 just letting you know now it is a lot of work.

I'm running 500whp on a stock K24A2.
Transmission is also stock.

But it's not a full daily.
It's a sunny weather ride.
and when I drive her I piss pound her.

Precision 6262 turbo on E85.
Easily 10k+ into what's truly needed.
(Turbo kit, upgraded turbo, fuel system, ECU, Tune...list goes on)

i was stock k20z1 with crappy manifold and gt3071 turbo made 408 with wastegate leak.
now i have k24a4 built stock sleeves and built head and fuel system etc
gt3071 small but great for street and on e85 also
its easily 10k+ for the setup i have but list will go on

500whp in RSX, crazy, how are you going to deliver it to the ground?! Fwd, no LSD, no place to have wider tires, you're just going to have the wheel spin every time you press the gas, that only if your engine is not blown from an excessive boost.

For $15k, you can just buy used 135i, better tune-able platform.

Ignorant, maybe. I just see little reason to go that hardcore for a daily driver. Some people like drag racing, mod the car up to the roof, I understand that. For every mod, there is money and reliability involved, it's just cheaper to buy a different car.

Last year I sold 135i for $12k, for $400 extra one could get JB3 tune to bring car to 380hp, more money for downpipes, intake, exhaust, maybe another 50hp-60hp. 135i doesn't have LSD, but it has enough electronics to stabilize the car when pushed hard.

How wide of the tires you can put on RSX without alterating fenders, 245 with custom wheels. 135i stock wheels fit 255.

If you tried launching a car with 300hp+, you know that it is easy to loose traction and get bad timing, which after awhile is kind of annoying, push too hard, tires spin.

Anyhow, at the end of the day, it's up to you to decide.
