Ok, I'm doing this on my EP3 seats cuz I got ITR Recaros. I actidentally tore a little bit of the side sensor. I'm going to hope it still works. If not ill have to try to source another one out.

Now from what i am understanding, baby blue is pulling out the side air bags and plugging them back up and keeping them in the car. The issue with that is if he does get into an accident then the airbags are going to go off inside the car. Now if they are under the seat, this could damage or hurt you when they go off or hurt people that are sitting in the rear. If they pop because of this that can also screw you up because if i remember correctly the bags are filled with harmful chemicals/acid/flamable substances. Not completly sure which one it was. I would not go this route.

There might be another way that could work with out even having the sensors under your seat, you could try taking out the cluster and locating the wire on the harnes that powers the SRS ligth and cut it and attach it to any other wire like the ABS for example, so when you turn on the key the light comes on but goes off since its conected to the ABS they should go of at the same time, when i had my 99 GSR previous owner did that to the ABS, so they would go off together, i had a hard time wondering why ABS didnt work since it wasnt giving any codes, until i installed indiglo gauges and noticed the attachment.

In for any information on how to clear SRS light without passenger seat sensors. I know resistors will work (take the place of) the side airbags, but I've heard resistors in place of the sensors aren't enough to fool the system.

Getting tired of seeing the SRS light since installing Recaros a year ago.

another bump from the dead
so any unanswered questions, am I missing a new thread or something?

anyways, how do you do the resistor thing for the driver's side?
All you need is a resistor right? no airbags, no nothing else?
where do you splice it in?

been a while since i've logged in here. haha. the pictures either don't exist anymore... or they are on a hard drive thats in a box somewhere in my closet. i'll pull it down and see if i can read the harddrive soon...

Guys, this is very easy to do. I have two Sparco racing seats in my RSX with the OPDS sitting under the passenger seat and the resistors in the side airbag electrical connectors. I removed the OPDS and sensors from my stock seats. Very easy to do. My Air Bag light is NOT ON, and no I didn't cover it with tape. Follow the directions in the first post and you'll be all set. My front airbags will still work in the event of a front end collision. I don't have any pictures from what I did because I figured it out along the way.
