so 1.8 ohm 2 watt resistors should work fine right? pretty hard to find 2 watt 2 ohm without paying ridiculous shipping for a tiny part
I used 2 ohm and 25 watt resistors this past weekend. The most important part is getting the resistance (ohm) correct. Too little or too much will set off codes in the SRS system. The wattage can be anything above 2 watt and it will work.

I did all the steps in the first post and was able to get my SRS light to turn off and stay off. It works if you do it right.

so something like this

http://www.amazon.com/Ohm-Resistor-Wire-Wound-Tolerance/dp/B0002ZP3HI/ref=pd_cp_e_1

should work fine right. its 10 watts and 2 ohms

Edit: I also found

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Watt-2-oh...n-Film-Resistor-R-2W-10-/230584613305?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35afe9f9b9

which are 2 watt 2 ohms with cheap shipping so I might just get these.

This is a great diy ..thanks alot for this. I want to bypass the passenger side because it deployed before I bought the car so I have srs light on. Would this still work? Would I have to do the paper clip trick to reset srs compurer? I'm buying some si ep3 seats so I'm planning on doing the same thing as the post above but are all 3 sensors going to work or will I need new ones since it deployed?

Yes this will work for your current seats. You need one 2ohm 2watt resistor for that. Yes, you will always have to use a paper clip to reset the SRS system.

Yes, your sensor's from your passenger seat will work, what may not work is your OPDS computer that's inside that seat but take it out with the sensors and give it a try first.

I would like some pics of how to take out the sensors please

and also any links to sites or stores that sell the 2 watt 2 ohm resistors needed? pics would definitely HELP

after all this reading i confused myself even further
thank you

I still don't know why anyone who uses the RSX as a daily driver would want to change their seats and lose the side airbags. I understand the aftermarket seats kick ass but wouldn't you rather have piece of mind knowing you have a side airbag to protect your ass when you get hit by the soccer mom in the excursion?

I personally am going to have my seats reupholstered, this weay I get all the benefits of the airbags and a better looking seat. Just thought I'd share :)
well, why would someone buy a civic ex with no side airbags for a daily driver? hm...
good point and conclusion there.:dontknow:

isnt the point of an airbag just to protect you from smacking into your interior? if a soccer mom in an excursion hits you then I dont think a side airbag is gonna do much. youre still gettin f'd up..

I just did this today in my 2006 RSX Type S and it was quite different than the OP suggests.

There are 3 sets of ribbon cable pressure sensors in the seat that need removed and they are quite a pain to get out without tearing them unless you almost completely remove the leather from the seat top/back. And to do this I had to remove the metal rings holding the seat front to the sides of the foam inside.

There are also 2 sets of SRS plugs that need resistors plugged into them. They are easy to locate because they have yellow plugs with only 2 leads in them. You just plug the 2 watt 2.2 ohm resistors in them and tape them up so they stay. I also wired a jumper into the pin 1 and 3 in the seat belt buckle plug to prevent a seat belt light. (The same 2 resistors in yellow plugs and seat belt jumper works on the driver side as well to prevent SRS warnings)

Once removed I put the SRS computer from inside the seat and the 3 sensors inside a small box and hid it underneath the race seat after installing it.

No SRS lights or side air bag lights or error codes once completed.

I attached some photos from during the process to help clarify.

ok so i tried this and didnt work... i think because of the opds might not work because of it being deployed.. any way to bypass the whole thing with the resistors

Yes. As posted earlier in the thread, get a Civic airbag computer and swap it in place of the RSX airbag computer. -- The one behind the center console just to the right of your gas pedal.

im trying to just bypass it by using the resistors or something like that.. i dont want to spend money on this if i dont have to, if anything i would just buy new seats probably be cheaper if i had to buy the computer... im selling the rsx so i kinda just need it to pass type 2 inspection at dmv. anything like that would help thank you

I took my stock seats out of my type s and replaced with aftermarket ones. Didn't do anything like this and never had a light come on. Just left all the harness unplugged. Something wrong with mine or what?

does your srs light come on when you put the key in the 2 possition? if it dont thank youve been taped
