I am planning to lowering my car, with my tein s tech 1.5/1.7 drop. And adding a mugen lip in the front. I am wondering if I need a alignment change right away? Or that I need a camberkit?

camber kit is recommended.. i am sure you can drive around without it.. but your tires will suffer..

you will need an alignment after the spring install.. but if you intend to get the camber kit, wait till you have that installed as well before you get an alignment.. otherwise you will need to go back again for another alignment with the camber kit..

if the springs are brand new.. i have heard you should let them settle in for a few days.. that would mean if this is your DD you will be driving with a screwy alignment.. so this depends on your needs..

Yes you need an alignment, chunk is quite correct. With all lowered vehicles changing the shocks to something that is designed for a lowered vehicle is also recommended. I don't know too much about the shock manufacturers for the RSX but I know that I can get my shocks revalved to accommodate for the lower ride height and less travel. Granted I have air ride on my car so I have a totally different setup.

Yes your going to have to pull the whole coil out to change the shocks so your going to need an alingment.

And I wouldn't get an alignment right away, let the springs settle for a couple of days before you go align everything. My coilovers took about about three days to settle.

It isn't going to kill you to drive your car out of alignment for a day or two while the springs settle. But if you are expierenceing severe pulling to the side while driving or under braking that you are having a problem with then getting an alignment prior to the springs settling would be a safer option. And then afterwards you're left with a little negative camber and that really isn't bad.

I was a little extreme. I waited two weeks, drove it everyday till I got my alignment. I also noticed the back was not settling as fast as the front so I thru a 70 lb. sand bag in the rear overnight.

Since you live in the bay area you should not have this issue, but this type of change should not be done during the winter where you have the posibility of bad weather. The poor camber in the rear will get loose on you in the snow/slush.
