I don't know if this has already been done but here it is anyway. This is geared for those who do not know how to change their brake pads and continue to spend $100's having someone else do them.
Rear Brake Pad Installation. 02-06 RSX.
1. Secure vehicle on appropriate Jack Stands and Remove Rear Wheels.
2. Remove the upper and lower caliper bolts, 12mm. Use a 17mm endwrench to keep nut from moving.
2a. Unhook E-brake cable and remove bracket. Two 12mm bolts.
3. Remove caliper and set aside.
4. Using a flat tip screwdriver or similar tool, turn the pistion CLOCKWISE until it retracts into the caliper. Be careful not to damage the boot during this process.
Piston fully retracted. This will give you enough clearance for the new, thicker pads.
5. Apply caliper greese to the back of the pads and install metal plate. Apply greese to the back of the plate as well.
6. Place pads in the caliper. Pad with wear indicator will go on the backside. Install caliper.
7. Install 12mm bolts holding caliper together, also using 17mm endwrench. Install E-brake bracket with two 12mm bolts. Slide E-brake cable on. Install wheels.
I added step 1a again. I find it easier to remove the caliper when the ebrake cable is not connected. 2 12mm bolts, 30 seconds of time. If you chose not to remove the cable and bracket, fine. I am no expert, this is my way. Hope this helps...
