I've been havin trouble with my car lately, bogs very badly when throttle is applied. Of revs drop car will die sometimes. All of this started happening when I changed my headgasket. It acts like timing is off but I've checked it multiple times and it's spot on. Anyway another member posted he was having same issues and nobody could help him either, he told me that he unplugged his tps and it ran much better. Well I tried and he was right its much more responsive but still not how it should be, and of course I have a cel now. But what does that mean of it runs better with it unplugged? Don't get me wrong it still runs like shit and dies occasionally hard to take off from a dead stop it almost does when I give it throttle but it's still better. Can someone please help me. My car has been running crappy for the last 2 months and I really need to fix it so I can sale it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here's a link to the old thread for. Bit more background on the issue.

Not saying for sure since Ive only read about this here, but apparently the MAP and TPS connectors are alike and can be swapped by accident.

Id double check that first, although I couldnt tell you what to look for.

I had the same problem. Since I got my car I had a tps problem. One of my friends clean the whole throttle body and the car started running fine. Like 3 weeks ago my car wouldn't go after 2000 rpms this happened after I washed my car. Come to find out water got to the tps sensor because it was unplugged. U are right my car runs much better with the tps unplugged. But is really a bad problem to have it like that because if water gets in it it could cost a big a problem. So plugged back the tps ssensor and clean your whole throttle body.. let me know howIit goes.

I've cleaned the entire throttle body before I unplugged tps. Including iacv. Didn't help. Map and tps arent switched, I've double checked that. And in last post I'm really unsure what you are trying to say. You got it wet after you unplugged it and it made it worse? Why would plugging the tps sensor in cause car to run worse?
